Tuesday nights' routine

Every Tuesday night for the past 4 years I have stayed at home with the kids while Spencer went to Young Men's activities. We would hurry and eat dinner together, he would leave and I would help the kids finish the day's work. Have them take a bath, read scriptures, pray and go to bed. Now that Spencer has been released from that calling, I don't do anymore yelling by myself on this night for the kids to hurry up and get ready for bed, now there are two of us yelling at the kids to hurry up and get ready for bed. It's been great. I don't know why it takes us so long to get the kids into bed. We start at 7:45 and they finally get into bed at 9:00. Am I not yelling loud enough? Maybe I'll try a gentle nudge next time. But I am finding some of these moments precious to behold. Like Sam admiring at his sister and Spencer and Jon in the kitchen, preparing a turkey that we are going to cook tonight. They even cleaned up the mess. How great is that!

I can relate to your tuesday nights, except I'm still doing it. Oh wait how about most nights.

It will NEVER CHANGE. They just get bigger and whine louder. Sometimes I am the whiner. I cannot really picture you yelling. Not Spencer either. Just laughing and shaking your heads. You are the perfect family. I want to be just like you.

Except for your in-laws Julie. Spencer's in-laws are weird, but great. Even the one's that live in Minnesota.

I'm so glad to know you guys are yelling at roughly the same time we're yelling. And no, it doesn't get any better. They get bigger and if they're feeling brave, they yell back. ;-)

BTW, absolutely love your blog!
