Week One-Part Three of the Turkey Trip

We took off from the House of Virgin Mary to go to the ancient city of Ephesus.  This was most spectacular and I would love to visit this place again.  What a beautiful city this must have been. We visited the big amphitheater where the Apostle Paul preached to the Ephesians and then saw where he was imprisoned for several years. We saw the symbol for pi. and the symbols used for Christianity. The beautiful library and the shopping center with mosaic tile floors. We walked on the marble roads and saw and heard the story of the Amazon Women. Saw the pipes used for transporting water and the outdoor toilets. This truly was an amazing site to see.

Week One - Part Two of Turkey Trip

The afternoon of June 6th we boarded a tour bus and took a tour of the House of Virgin Mary. This is a spectacular place.  It is believed that this is where Mary was brought to Ephesus by the Apostle John after the Resurrection of Christ and lived out her days.
Our guide wasn't aware of what this was used for, but for us, it's looks like a baptismal font.
 The House of Virgin Mary
A flowering plant growing out of the tree
I thought this tree looked similar to the "kissing tree" on Temple Square
A wall where visitors may write down their wishes for the world and tie them to the wall, but it is said that they must return in order to have those wishes come true.
