One Leg Done

Knitting has become a wanted distraction for me.  It keeps my mind off of the uncertainty of our future, like what job will Mr. Jewels get, where will it be, when will it come and what should we prepare for while we wait.  Opposite of all that is knitting, knitting is right here, right now and I can get a project finished with certainty.  So, I've made another pair of socks, and I started making a pair of baby drawstring pants for the soon to be member of my brother and sister-in-law's family.  It knits up really fast and it's made with a cotton denim yarn so that when it is washed it will shrink a little and become softer.  I love it.  On to the next leg.

I Like.....

Life in our home has been less than heavenly. We have been at each other's throats and really for no other reason than that we are getting tired of the snow and cold weather and we are all quite anxious to have Mr. Jewels finish his PhD project and get a job.  Every thing we seem to do is annoying to at least one other person in the family and everyone hears about it.  So we decided to make a little change.  Every night before family prayer each of us has to say one thing they like about every other member of the family.  We have been doing this for about two weeks now and it is going pretty well.  We are getting along better and even enjoy each other's company every once in awhile.  It only took a few nights for us to get Sam to say "I like when Jon..." instead of "I don't like it when Jon..."  I like it when little changes make a big difference.

Don't Give Up

There is help. There is happiness.
