Thrift store shopping is an adventure all in itself. You never know exactly what you will find. You know what you want to find, but there is no guarantee that it will be there. Eme needed a pair of winter boots, waterproof ones. We lucked out and found a Land's End pair in good condition that fit, we also found some cool green shoes for Jon and a black and grey pillowcase which will be turned into a batman cape for Sam. These things came to a total of about twelve dollars. You can't argue with that.
We have received a lot of snow this winter, so it's no surprise that Sam likes to take his pickax and go mining in the snow. He's not too keen on wearing his winter boots and hat though.
As far as jobs go, we have only heard back from one company regarding a Post Doc in Ohio. This would be a temporary thing, only about one or two years. I hope that within the days and months to come we start hearing back from more schools. My patience is all but thick these days.
