Money-Making Scheme

Mr. Jewels and my son both have their own paper routes, so I thought that it would be a great idea for me to save the extra papers they bring home everyday, bundle them up when it got to be a lot and take them to the local recycler and turn them in for cash. My daughter has been doing the same thing, only with aluminum cans. So we took our sweet money making load to the recycler, had them weighed and took the receipt to the cashier to get paid. The total came to $6.54, I asked the nice lady how much the cans came too so I could pay my daughter the right amount and she said $5.72, and then she sweetly added that the newspapers came to $0.82. I saved a whole years worth of newspapers, bundled them up, stacked them in the car and drove them for a whole $0.82. I even used a 1 cent bonus coupon. I feel ridiculous.

I love this story! $0.82...not really worth it, huh? I hope all is well with your family. We need to get together sometime soon.

Oh, the joy of trying to do something good AND get paid for it.

Miss you all. We had a great time. Are you coming back next month?
