Frosting

Thanks to a lovely baking class I attended a week ago, I was encouraged to make my own frosting instead of using the cake frosting bought at the store. Now, I enjoy the store-bought frosting, especially having it in the fridge so I can have a chocolate treat every now and then. Needing a chocolate fix, Monday night I decided to make a cake for dessert and had no frosting in the pantry, so we looked up some chocolate cake frosting recipes on the internet that had excellent reviews and picked one to make. It turned out delicious. The whole cake was devoured by the next afternoon.

Mmm. Double yum! I love the stuff made from scratch. Nina and I found a recipe for butter-frosting flavored with vanilla several months ago and tried it. It made more than we could ever use, and I got fat just looking at it, but it was absolutely DIVINE.

I'm not surprised your cake went fast!

There's just something about homemade frosting or desserts that I absolutely love. It always reminds me of my great Grandma. It's nice to remember a special memory of her everytime we make homemade desserts.
